Description
This Dubai Chocolate Bar recipe brings luxury home with layers of crisp kataifi pastry, creamy pistachio filling, and smooth dark chocolate. Inspired by the viral dessert from Dubai’s top dessert spots, this treat is rich, nutty, and totally addictive.
Ingredients
Kataifi Filling:
150g kataifi pastry (or shredded phyllo)
360g pistachio paste or pistachio butter
20g tahini (optional, for extra creaminess)
Pinch of salt
Chocolate Shell:
500g dark or milk chocolate (chopped)
15g pink chocolate (optional, for decoration)
15g green chocolate (optional, for decoration)
Instructions
- Toast the Kataifi: In a large frying pan over medium heat, toast the kataifi pastry in a bit of salted butter until golden and crispy. Let cool slightly.
- Mix the Filling: In a bowl, combine toasted kataifi with pistachio paste, salt, and tahini if using. Mix until a thick, sticky filling forms.
- Melt the Chocolate: Using a microwave or double boiler, melt your chocolate until smooth and glossy.
- Prep the Molds: Spoon a layer of melted chocolate into your silicone molds, coating the bottom and sides. Let it set slightly.
- Fill and Seal: Spoon the kataifi-pistachio filling into each mold. Press gently to spread evenly. Top with more melted chocolate to seal the bar.
- Chill to Set: Refrigerate or freeze for at least 1–2 hours until fully set.
- Unmold and Decorate: Remove from molds and drizzle with pink or green chocolate for a professional touch.
Notes
Swap pistachio with almond butter or Nutella for a twist.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
Use a thermometer when tempering chocolate for that signature snap.
